2 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
University of OklahomaThe combined BS/MS 5-year program in Mechanical Engineering, often times referred to as the Accelerated Program, is offered for qualified undergraduate students to pursue graduate education in conjunction with the undergraduate degree program in each curriculum. The accelerated program requires 144 credit hours for the thesis option and 148 credit hours for the non-thesis option.
High school GPA of 3.0/4.0 (US grading scale), Interview with Admissions Representative, Test scores: TOEFL minimum required score of 79, IELTS minimum required score of 6.5 overall band. Letter of Intent/Statement of Purpose, 3 Letters of Recommendation, Resume/CV and Sample research/writing sample. US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Engineering applicants are generally assessed on the strength of their preparation in advanced Mathematics and laboratory sciences, particularly Physics and Chemistry. Calculus, technical projects, robotics, engineering competitions, research and evidence of practical problem-solving can strengthen the application. Universities may also look for creativity, teamwork and the ability to apply scientific concepts to real-world challenges.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
