Biological engineering is the application of concepts and methods of biology (and secondarily of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science) to solve real-world problems related to life sciences or the application. The course covers principles and engineering applications of biology, principles and applications of biochemistry, genetics, microbial systems, animal systems, ecological systems and global systems. The course also covers quantitative laboratory studies of activities of biological systems, including microbial, plant and animal systems.
