Bioinstrumentation is the application of electronics, computer programming, and measurement principles to develop devices used in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Examples of devices and techniques that have emerged from this discipline include the electrocardiogram, the cardiac pacemaker, blood pressure measurement, brain computer interface, implantable electrodes, sensors, tumor ablation and other medical devices.
