Industrial distribution and logistics encompasses all the elements of the supply chain, from raw materials to the final customer, and all of the transportation methods throughout the supply chain. Distribution and logistics managers coordinate the movement of goods, services, and information throughout the world. Distribution and logistics is an important segment of the economy worldwide. In the United States alone, distribution of industrial products is a four-trillion-dollar business, more than 10 percent of the gross national product.
