Led by internationally renowned illustrator, photographer, and comic book colorist Jose Villarrubia, MICA's BFA in Illustration fosters an understanding of the dynamic field today and urges students to shape its future. It prepares students to create work with a personal voice that resonates with contemporary culture. The curriculum, combined with MICA's emphasis on liberal arts, prepares illustrators who are both visually and intellectually literate and technically adept, with an understanding of the history of the field-which is the history of all narrative art.
Portfolio of Artwork (12-20 pieces of artwork),Essay (250 word minimum), Letters of recommendation, Activities and Interest: Compile a list of activities, interests, and honors, Official transcripts - Applicants must provide official transcripts of all secondary academic work, Official test scores - ACT/SAT Scores, For International Students: a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.5. Your application will not be reviewed for admission without at least one test score on file (TOEFL, IELTS, ACT, SAT)
