Program Overview

The Classics major is a broad study of literature, covering a deep knowledge of the elements of language, grammar, and syntax, writing and reading skills, vocabulary building and experience with the foundational texts of the Western literary tradition that have influenced most all of subsequent literary and philosophical thought. The degree has four emphasis areas for students interested in the mythology, literature, history, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome.
