Program Overview

The creative writing program that nurtured Dennis Lehane '88, best-selling author and HBO writer/producer, is now accepting applications to earn B.A. and B.F.A. degrees. But you don't have to be gunning for a Hollywood contract to enroll. Our liberal arts graduates also go on to M.F.A. programs and careers in journalism, media, PR, editing and publishing, counseling and software design.

Common Application or Eckerd College application, Personal Statement/Essay, 40 Application Fee, $40 Application Fee, Official High School Transcript and/or G.E.D. results, Certified, true copies of your secondary school records and corresponding national or provincial examination certificates, Admission Recommendation Letter, Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL iBT score of at least 79, computer based 123 or written 550; OR IELTS score with an overall band result of 6.5 or higher; OR Duolingo English Test score of at least 105; OR SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 550; OR ACT combined English and Reading of 43; OR Successful completion of ELS Intensive English Language Program-Level 112, requirement may also be satisfied by submitting one of the following 650-word graded essay, score of 4 or 5 on the College Board AP examination in English Language, 5 or higher on the IB , Higher Level, Predicted IB score of 32 or better
