The BA in Writing and Media combines two of the English Department’s existing concentrations—Professional Writing and Creative Writing—along with a variety of creative electives from other departments (Art, History, Theatre, etc.) to allow you to customize the program to your interests. Not only will you have the opportunity to develop your media writing skills in professional, technical, and creative styles, but you’ll receive training in industry-standard publishing technologies through Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign and Photoshop. And best of all, you’ll benefit from our internship opportunities which place students in Birmingham-based organizations to earn valuable work experience before graduation.
