Bachelors in English

The Colorado College English Department invites students who are passionate about reading to explore literatures from Chaucer and Shakespeare to the graphic novel, from global postcolonial writings to the foundational works of classical antiquity. In our teaching we emphasize the craft of close literary reading alongside the craft of writing, whether creative or critical. Our faculty's variety of approaches to the meaning and relevance of literary studies supports students with diverse interests. English majors graduate with a nuanced understanding of the vitality, continuity, and complexity of the literary tradition in English.
