Students under this program discover the development of literatures, cultures, critical approaches, and of course, language-from the oldest manuscripts to the avant-garde-in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. The department offers courses in Catalan up to the intermediate level as well. Students interested in advanced work in more than one language and tradition may pursue the Romance studies track.
