Program Overview

The English department at Wooster believes that the study of literature and other expressive media is essential to understanding the past, confronting the critical issues of the present, and imagining a collective future. The department therefore encourages students to read both widely and deeply, engaging with literatures in English across the long history and varied geographies of their production, while also identifying specific fields of interest to ground students' capstone project, Senior Independent Study.

Common Application or Coalition Application, Official Transcript, Secondary School Report, Teacher Evaluation, Scores from one of the following standardized tests are preferred by the Admissions Committee: ACT, SAT, minimum recommended score for TOEFL or equivalent is 80 to be considered, IELTS score is below 7, PTE Academic, or Duolingo, alternative preferred tests:IB predicted grades, Three AP exam scores at least one score must be from AP English Language or Literature, Three A-level predicted grades, WAEC results, Board Exams in India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh, Korean College Entrance Exam
