Program Overview

Linguistics, the study of human language, is an interdisciplinary major, corollary major and minor at Carson-Newman University. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field, linguistics students are afforded a great deal of flexibility in designing their program of study. While all linguistics students are required to take courses in the various branches of linguistic analysis, students enjoy the option of combining this with coursework in Communication, Education, English, Foreign Languages, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology.
