Do you like science and teaching Are you curious about geology, astronomy, meteorology, and environmental science Are you looking for a satisfying career with free-time in the summers If yes, then the Earth Science Education degree may be for you.The B.S. in Earth Science Education prepares students to teach Earth and Environmental science in secondary schools (Grades 7 -- 12) in Idaho. Earth Science Education majors take science courses in geology, astronomy, chemistry, and environmental science as well as the core secondary education courses. Students also are required to complete an education minor; we recommend the Natural Science or other Science Education minor. The capstone experience is student teaching for a semester at local schools or at partner schools in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. BYU-Idaho Earth Science Education graduates have a high job placement rate and excellent job security. Students are encouraged to work towards a Masters' degree after employment to increase compensation.
