George Mason UniversityThis concentration enables students to focus on species conservation at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation (SMSC) in Front Royal Virginia. SMSC programs provide hands-on, integrated, skills-based learning experiences to prepare students for their next step in a conservation career. Students choose one of the three 16-credit in-residence programs offered: Conservation, Biodiversity & Society (CBS); Wildlife Ecology & Conservation (WEC); and Endangered Species Conservation (ESC).

Profile Assessment: Science applicants are generally assessed on the rigour of their Mathematics and laboratory-science coursework. Relevant preparation may include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus or Statistics, depending on the intended field. Research, science fairs, Olympiads, laboratory exposure, independent investigation and environmental or community-science projects can demonstrate scientific curiosity and analytical thinking.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
