Prepare to understand and respond to challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss with a Christian worldview. You will understand the dynamic ways that humans interact with natural processes to create environmental challenges as you integrate insights from environmental communication, public policy, psychology, international development, and environmental science. Gain an understanding for the dynamic ways in which human social systems and structures influence natural processes to create environmental challenges.Develop the ability to communicate the complex ways in which human society influences such issues, and respond to these challenges through appropriate and relevant social, cultural, political, or economic engagement, Investigate the unique challenges and realities of communicating about environmental issues by exploring such topics as advocacy, social change, partisan politics, sociocultural identity expression and "green" marketing, Evaluate public policy related to environmental issues like nuclear waste disposal, hydraulic fracturing, energy use on public lands and global climate change policy, Learn from national leaders in the faith-based environmental movement, many of whom guest lecture in the program
