BA in Latino Studies

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Tufts University

Program Overview

As an interdisciplinary field, Latinx studies resides at the intersection of American and Latin American Studies. For Latinx students, the minor serves as a mirror for examining their individual and collective identities. It is also a window for learning about other Latinx sub-populations not their own. For non-Latinx students, the minor provides insight into one of the fastest growing ethnic minorities in the United States. While a minor in Latinx Studies is attractive to social science and humanities majors, it also benefits students entering professions in which knowledge of the distinctions between various Latinx communities in the U.S. is a valuable resource, such as: medicine; community health; dentistry; education; child development; urban and environmental planning and policy; and international relations.
