The Department offers a Romance Languages major in two different configurations: a dual-language option, where the student specializes in two Romance languages, and a three-language option, where the student specializes in three Romance languages.
• Application • Secondary School Report and Official Transcripts • Supplemental Essay • Average GPA score of 3.8 out of 4.0 scale • Two Teacher Evaluations/Recommendation • Mid-Year Report / Transcript • SAT/ ACT (Recommended) • TOEFL iBT: A minimum of 100 total with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking) OR IELTS 7.0 overall with no less than 7.0 in each section US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 20–25%. Johns Hopkins values curiosity, initiative, collaboration and engagement with meaningful problems. Research, public service, independent projects, and academic exploration can be valuable.
