The degree program in History & Public Policy prepares students for lives and careers committed to learning how to build structures of power that best serve all people groups. Our students seek to understand how public policy emerged in different contexts, and how it came to be what it is today.
Studying public policy from a wide array of global, historical perspectives, students will acquire qualitative skills with some exposure to quantitative reasoning. As a history degree, this program combines a liberal arts focus with exposure to professional programs specifically dedicated to public work.

Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Policy Analyst
