The history department offers a flexible major that prepares students for a variety of careers in business, cultural organizations, education, government, law, and other areas. In three introductory courses (chosen from world civilization, U.S. history, and Asian civilizations), history majors understand the historical development of their own and other societies, and work with evidence from a variety of sources.
