The BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Major in Liberal Studies is an individualized, self-designed major that serves students whose academic interests and intellectual pursuits do not specifically fit one of the established majors offered by a department or program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The major thus offers the flexibility to design a program that reflects students’ unique academic interests and goals and to focus on an original theme that crosses multiple subjects, fields of study, and disciplines.

Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Human Resources
