The multimedia journalism major focuses on effective storytelling. Students will receive hands-on experience with the tools and techniques of photography and cinema, audio production, and video production, while learning to be a critical thinker and an excellent writer. They will also create multimedia projects using all of the multimedia elements required of today s journalists. As a multimedia major, students will not only gain a foundation in reporting and writing, but also learn how to combine words with images, video and sound to tell journalistic stories creating an experiential, interactive environment for readers. Courses to expect for this major include Fundamentals of Audio and Video Production, Internet Communication, and Extreme Digital Persuasion.
