The Department of Journalism and Communication (JCOM) prepares students for careers in a wide range of communication fields.Students develop knowledge and skills in such areas as information gathering, writing, video production, online journalism, and media literacy.The department recommends that all students complete a one-semester internship before graduation.Because of the hands-on learning students receive while in the program, they graduate with substantial experience and are more likely to be hired.
Official high school/secondary school transcripts with grades from the last three years with a minimum GPA of 2.7 or 656 total on the General Education Development (GED) exam (550 Battery Average prior to 2014).Official ACT or SAT exam results are required.The English language requirement: TOEFL-71, IELTS- 6.0.Affidavit of Financial Support and Bank Statement Cpoy.
