The Media Production major provides you with the necessary audio and video production and postproduction skills to produce television shows, live sporting events, corporate events, music videos, promotional videos, training videos, electronic press kits and multimedia content for various media platforms. Students develop skills in both multi-camera live production and single-camera production and post-production and in audio and video streaming.
As a Belmont Media Production major, you’ll have access to the state-of-the-art facilities in the Johnson Center that houses multi-media instructional computer labs, a video production studio for both chromakey and trackless virtual studio production, a video production control room and editing suites. Our Macintosh computer labs are equipped with the latest production software including Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Cloud and Davinci Resolve.

Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on writing, communication, creativity and engagement with media or current affairs. Journalism, school publications, podcasting, filmmaking, photography, social-media projects, debate and communication campaigns may strengthen the profile. Some film or media programs may request a creative portfolio, writing sample or supplementary submission.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Cinematographer/Director of Photography
