Program Overview

The Dental Hygiene Baccalaureate degree will be implemented in January 2017. An additional 40 41 credits of specific core curriculum and prerequisite general education courses will be required prior to admission into the Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) program. Additional courses through the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies (IDST) have been incorporated into various semesters of the curriculum.

The degree program is sponsored by the School of Health Related Professions (SHRP) in collaboration with other New Jersey institutions as well as the Newark College of Arts and Sciences. The general education classes for this program are completed at the affiliate school. The 126-credit curriculum includes a broader range of general education, discipline-specific, and interdisciplinary education to meet the requirements for a B.S. degree.
