As a diagnostic medical sonographer you’ll work directly with patients to ensure they receive proper care based on the images you take through ultrasound technology. This role requires a combination of technical and communication skills. Sonographers are expected to deliver clear images that will help physicians correctly diagnose problems and may be the first person a patient interacts with during an appointment. Depending on the track you choose, you could be taking ultrasounds for pregnant women or looking at abnormal heart conditions among many other medical issues.
