Program Overview

Furman Health Sciences has three goals: preparing the next generation of health professionals, promoting campus wellness activities, and helping the wider Greenville community learn the benefits of eating right and engaging in healthy physical activity. Our program flows from our Wellness Concepts course, a general education course that leads students to understand the consequences of lifestyle habits on their well-being. The course focuses on a study of wellness concepts physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual that include an examination of the fundamental knowledge of physical fitness, chronic diseases, nutrition, stress, substance use and abuse, and sexually transmitted diseases.
