Program Overview

Students in the medical laboratory sciences (MLS) program prepare to become medical laboratory scientists who work in the laboratory/diagnostic sector of the health professions industry and research laboratories. Students spend three years on campus gaining the background in biology, chemistry, and mathematics needed to understand the medical tests that medical laboratory scientists perform. The student s final year is spent in a practicum at a medical center learning how to perform and interpret the medical tests used by medical laboratory scientists.
