The Catawba College Department of Nursing seeks to prepare competent, diverse nurse professionals to meet the holistic health care needs of a culturally diverse society by providing a solid foundation in liberal studies to prepare students for entry-level practice in the nursing profession.
Completed undergraduate application, Translated and Evaluated transcripts from all secondary/high school and post-secondary schools attended, Official standardized test scores: either SAT, ACT, TOEL, or IELTS, Letter of Recommendation, Students whose native language or language of instruction in secondary/ high school is English: SAT-I or ACT score is required, English Language requirements: Achieve a minimum score of 79 on the IBT TOEFL Minimum of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, Score of a minimum of 60 on the IELTS, Complete Level 112 from an ELS English Language Center, Score a 450 or higher on the Critical Reading section of the SAT-I, PDF Color Photocopy of your passport, Completed Certificate of Finance Responsibility US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to show strong preparation in Biology and Chemistry, with Mathematics or Physics helpful for some programs. Healthcare volunteering, public-health initiatives, scientific research, first-aid training, community service and supervised clinical exposure may demonstrate empathy, responsibility and understanding of healthcare. Requirements differ considerably by program, particularly for direct-entry Nursing, Pharmacy and allied-health degrees.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
