The nursing program at Hood College provides the skills for the increasing complexity of healthcare in the 21st century by offering a foundation of liberal arts courses and supplemental nursing education focusing on leadership, research and evidence-based practice, critical thinking, nursing theory and communications.

English Proficiency: A minimum score on the TOEFL of 79 iBT, 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based; a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS; a minimum score of 53 on the PTE Academic; a minimum score of 100 on Duolingo English Test. US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to show strong preparation in Biology and Chemistry, with Mathematics or Physics helpful for some programs. Healthcare volunteering, public-health initiatives, scientific research, first-aid training, community service and supervised clinical exposure may demonstrate empathy, responsibility and understanding of healthcare. Requirements differ considerably by program, particularly for direct-entry Nursing, Pharmacy and allied-health degrees.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
