The College offers a fouryear curriculum leading to the bachelor of science in nursing degree. In accordance with the philosophy of Valparaiso University, the faculty of the College believe their responsibility is to foster intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth of the student as an educated person and as a competent professional nurse. The curriculum therefore, includes a wide variety of foundation courses in the natural and social sciences and the liberal arts as well as courses related to the principles and practice of nursing.
High school diploma with a GPA of 3.71, High school andor college transcripts, SAT andor ACT scores. Two professional or academic recommendation letters, 6.0 minimum IELTS with no more than two sub scores below 6.0 or 75 minimum TOEFL internetbased or 56 minimum PTE. US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to show strong preparation in Biology and Chemistry, with Mathematics or Physics helpful for some programs. Healthcare volunteering, public-health initiatives, scientific research, first-aid training, community service and supervised clinical exposure may demonstrate empathy, responsibility and understanding of healthcare. Requirements differ considerably by program, particularly for direct-entry Nursing, Pharmacy and allied-health degrees.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
