University of Wisconsin MadisonIn this major, students explore nutrition through clinical and management courses and prepare for postgraduate training required to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN). With an increased emphasis on the role of food and nutrition in treating and preventing disease, employment of registered dietitians is projected to grow faster than other occupations.
Registered dietitian nutritionists work in a wide variety of settings, including health care, business and industry, community and public health, education, research, government agencies, and private practice. Many organizations, particularly those in medical and health care settings, require RDN credentials.
Application Completed Higher Secondary Education or equivalent. Official transcripts GPAs between a 3.8 and a 4.0, and a class rank in the 85–97 percentile. TOEFL iBT: 80 OR IELTS 6.5 overall. Two Essays One Letter of Recommendation ACT / SAT (optional for Spring 2027)
