The BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences is not a major, but is a milestone degree granted to current Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students while working toward the PharmD degree. In order to qualify for the BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, students must have attended UW–Madison prior to entering the School of Pharmacy, and must meet all degree requirements.
Application Completed Higher Secondary Education or equivalent. Official transcripts GPAs between a 3.8 and a 4.0, and a class rank in the 85–97 percentile. TOEFL iBT: 80 OR IELTS 6.5 overall. Two Essays One Letter of Recommendation ACT / SAT (optional for Spring 2027) US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to show strong preparation in Biology and Chemistry, with Mathematics or Physics helpful for some programs. Healthcare volunteering, public-health initiatives, scientific research, first-aid training, community service and supervised clinical exposure may demonstrate empathy, responsibility and understanding of healthcare. Requirements differ considerably by program, particularly for direct-entry Nursing, Pharmacy and allied-health degrees.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
