Program Overview

Psychology is the study of mind and behavior. The Psychology department at Rutgers University Camden offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, and both focus on the ways in which the study of human and animal behavior can help to understand and improve human life. Students will become acquainted with all of the theories that go into the practice of clinical psychology, as well as the various methods of research and analysis involved in the criticism and critique of our present knowledge of psychology as a field of scholarship. For understanding of the field, coursework will also touch on the history of psychological and psychiatric practice, providing lessons on authorities such as the Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, as well as the history of the care of children and the mentally insane.
