Program Overview

We are committed to working toward social and environmental justice for all people, and our minor in Public Health supports this mission by seeking to improve and promote human health for all communities across all sectors of life.Our program combines courses in the sciences, medical and health fields, technology, business, and government and public policy. You will gain an understanding of the many factors that influence public health, such as clean air, clean water, access to healthcare, education, disease prevention, and much more.With our small classes and dedicated faculty, you will have the opportunity to work closely with your instructors and dive deeply into the subject matter.You will gain an understanding of the rapidly evolving health care field and how practices and policies impact society.You will enhance your knowledge of the wide range of subject matter influenced by public health including environmental and global health, health policy and management, biostatistics, community health, epidemiology, health promotion, ethics, communication, and social and behavioral health.You will study across many subject areas including Sociology, Political Science, Biology, Management, Economics, Communication Studies, Psychology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Mathematics to gain an understanding of how public health is connected through both natural and human-made influences.
