BS Public Health

4 Years Blended Bachelors Program

University of North Carolina Greensboro

Program Overview

The Department of Public Health Education offers the Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree program. Public health, in contrast with clinical or medical professions that treat illness in individuals, is a profession centered on protecting the health of broad population groups through the prevention of illness and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Our degree program provides a foundation in the core areas of public health: social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, public health statistics, environmental health, and health policy/administration. Public health is the science of preventing disease, promoting health, and prolonging life within entire populations. Unlike clinicians who treat patients individually after they become sick, public health professionals work to identify the root causes of health problems, and then implement large-scale solutions to prevent injury or illness. The field of public health is vast with many opportunities to find your niche.
