Rutgers The State University of New Jersey New Brunswick

Program Overview

A joint B.S. in Health Sciences is sponsored by the School of Health Related Professions (SHRP) in collaboration with Thomas Edison State College (TESC), New Jersey City University (NJCU)* and the Newark College of Arts and Sciences. These partners provide the general education, basic science, and liberal arts courses. The School of Health Related Professions provides all of the health-related courses, including the interdisciplinary core of courses. Graduates of the program receive a Bachelor of Science degree awarded jointly by the SHRP and the collaborating institution. Therefore, when applying to the School of Health Related Professions, an applicant must also select the partner institution. To enroll in this program, allied health practitioners must possess an associate degree or certificate in an allied health discipline and must be licensed, certified, or registered in their applicable field. All students are required to complete NJCU s or TESC s general studies and residency requirements, a 15-credit online Interdisciplinary Health Sciences core, and one area in the professional concentration component. All students must complete a practicum or internship in their concentration area. The programs are based on the Rutgers Health Sciences Campus at Newark, in Scotch Plains, and online. Note: New Jersey City University is not currently accepting students to this program.
