Program Overview

The Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics (ACMS) is focused on tackling complex problems by combining the tools of its field with realistic knowledge of the problem. ACMS work is inherently interdisciplinary and outward looking. It enables statisticians and mathematicians to work alongside researchers in biological science, chemistry, economics and econometrics, engineering, political science, psychology, and sociology, among many other disciplines. ACMS provides the expertise in mathematical and computational modeling and statistical analysis necessary to the University s contribution to some of today s most prominent research areas.
