This program prepares students for careers or graduate study in applied and computational mathematics through interdisciplinary courses, including computer science, the physical sciences, English, and an applied internship.Students can specialize in a specific branch of math or pursue a concentration in a related field such as financial mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or applied and computational mathematics through the selection of elective courses.Regardless of concentration or program, our students have many hands-on opportunities including study abroad, internships, and collaborative research projects, all essential to professional development in the field. Our faculty are award-winning teachers and scholars who work with students on leading-edge research projects, many of which are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation and other agencies. They are influential researchers, publishing widely in their fields and providing expertise to the media and the public as well.
