Program Overview

The best way to describe the mathematics program at Eckerd College is through the use of the word 'flexible.' Every semester we offer a variety of courses in both pure and applied mathematics and many of our courses are sequenced so that the knowledge gained in one reinforces the learning in another. This gives you a great deal of flexibility in your studies because you will be the one who will choose whether to emphasize the theoretical, the applied or a combination of both. At Eckerd, each student majoring in mathematics has a truly unique graduation plan.

Common Application or Eckerd College application, Personal Statement/Essay, 40 Application Fee, $40 Application Fee, Official High School Transcript and/or G.E.D. results, Certified, true copies of your secondary school records and corresponding national or provincial examination certificates, Admission Recommendation Letter, Proof of English proficiency: TOEFL iBT score of at least 79, computer based 123 or written 550; OR IELTS score with an overall band result of 6.5 or higher; OR Duolingo English Test score of at least 105; OR SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 550; OR ACT combined English and Reading of 43; OR Successful completion of ELS Intensive English Language Program-Level 112, requirement may also be satisfied by submitting one of the following 650-word graded essay, score of 4 or 5 on the College Board AP examination in English Language, 5 or higher on the IB , Higher Level, Predicted IB score of 32 or better
