Our department offers a strong and flexible program in both applied and theoretical mathematics. You may choose to concentrate in traditional pure mathematics, in applied mathematics, or in training for a career in actuarial mathematics. You will gain a solid grounding in mathematics and use computational tools where appropriate.
The primary difference between a BA and a BS is their general education and non-major requirements. The BA grants students a broader liberal arts education, whereas the BS is more science focused. Students are encouraged to consider their academic and future career interests when deciding which to pursue, and should consult an advisor with any questions.
