Program Overview

The department offers undergraduate majors in Physics and Applied Physics and a graduate program (MS/Ph.D.) in Applied Physics at Rutgers-Newark. Courses are offered in partnership with the Physics department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. We have laboratory facilities for isotopic laser spectroscopy, eximer physics, advanced magnetic resonance techniques, and surface physics. Theoretical and experimental research of our faculty has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Office of Naval Research, and by industry.
