Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Modern Jewish Studies is an interdisciplinary major that consists of courses in a variety of disciplines. Students will gain an understanding of Jewish civilizations, as the result of interactions of Jewish culture, history, and religion. Students will explore the constants and diversity of the Jewish experience in different eras and geographical settings, and will study and grapple with Jewish beliefs and texts. Students must demonstrate a Novice-midlevel proficiency in Hebrew (as defined by the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages guidelines).

Complete each of the courses in the comprehensive pattern of college preparatory subject requirements with a grade of C or higher prior to high school graduation.3.0 GPA or greater in college preparatory subjects, AND 3,500 minimum CSULB Index to be considered, for non-STEM major and a 3,600 minimum STEM Index for STEM majors.
