The OSU Philosophy Department offers an education emphasizing the critical evaluation of foundational ideas, the history of ideas, and familiarity with controversies and critical analysis applied to real-world issues. In philosophy classes, students will read the words of some of the greatest minds who have ever lived, and try to work out their own views about these vital issues. Along the way, students will sharpen their skills of reasoning and argumentation, and deepen their perspective on the world. Courses to expect for this major include Philosophies of Dreams, Philosophy of Films, Patterns in Science, and Philosophy of Religion.
