As an FHS major you ll gain a thorough understanding of what common terms, such as family and social system, really mean in today s culture and how they interact with each other. As a graduate of the FHS program, you ll be prepared to meet the challenges of new learning environments, taking on roles such as case manager, youth outreach worker, family support worker, and residential care provider. You ll be able to pursue a career in a variety of fields, including child protection services, juvenile justice, corrections, mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and treatment, and education. Or you can choose to conduct research or obtain an advanced degree in areas such as special education, social work, counseling psychology, and family therapy.
