Program Overview

Converse's Biology program explores the study of living things, their vital processes, their interconnections with other life forms, and their place in this world. The Biology major and minor examines creatures, plants and other living organisms and studies how they grow, connect, function and develop.Our Biology program opens the doors for graduates to go into research, medicine, teaching, and even government service.As a Biology student, you will explore the structure, function and evolution of diverse living systems. You will learn about some of the most important issues of our time: genetic engineering, stem cell research, obesity, cancer and environmental sustainability. A Biology major or minor will prepare you for a career in research, teaching or healthcare and give you a strong foundation in the basic life sciences.
