Program Overview

Entomology is the scientific study of insects, a branch of zoology. In the past the term insect was more vague, and historically the definition of entomology included the study of terrestrial animals. The study emphasizes on bioterrorism directed against agriculture and human health has scientific (development of the threat agent, its deployment and mitigation), social and legal components. The study discusses how threats may be alleviated and future attacks responded to, and how risk is best communicated to affected citizens.It also introduces principles of insect study, including insect structure, insect development, evolutionary insect history and its ecological significance.
