Program Overview

The Department of Chemistry offers both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. Within the B.S. degree, the department offers two options: 1) in Chemistry, which fulfills the requirements for professional training established by the American Chemical Society, a national certifying agency, and 2) in Biochemistry (also fulfills requirements of the American Chemical Society), which prepares students for careers in biochemistry and various related fields. The Department of Chemistry emphasizes hands-on learning.
