BS in Chemistry

We offer either a B.S. degree with a major in chemistry or a B.S. in Chemistry degree that is certified by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society (ACS).There are many opportunities for chemistry majors to participate in undergraduate research projects with faculty.We offer many areas of study: analytical, synthetic, inorganic, physical and materials chemistry.Chemistry majors may also graduate with honors in chemistry.We offer state-of-the-art instrumentations including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMRs), Mass Spectrometry, Polymer Characterization, Raman and X-ray facilities that undergraduate students can use in their projects.We have Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS)You can now complete a major in chemistry and receive a secondary education teaching certificate in four years at UT Knoxville by participating the new VolsTeach program
