The materials physics specialization is designed to support a broad range of options, so students may pursue (1) a terminal BS, or prepare for (2) graduate work in materials science, or (3) graduate work in physics. This flexibility is afforded by a wide range of restricted electives, which allows students to design much of their own program while simultaneously maintaining the essential physics-based curriculum.
Academic Records, Test scores: ACT Writing Test, SAT Reasoning Test, GPA of 3.4 (or better), Financial Documentation Application and Transcript US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Science applicants are generally assessed on the rigour of their Mathematics and laboratory-science coursework. Relevant preparation may include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus or Statistics, depending on the intended field. Research, science fairs, Olympiads, laboratory exposure, independent investigation and environmental or community-science projects can demonstrate scientific curiosity and analytical thinking.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
