The interdepartmental Undergraduate Program in Archaeology introduces students to archaeological theory, analysis of archaeological materials, and results of archaeological research in prehistoric and early historic periods in the Old and New Worlds.
• Application • Secondary School Report and Official Transcripts • Supplemental Essay • Average GPA score of 3.8 out of 4.0 scale • Two Teacher Evaluations/Recommendation • Mid-Year Report / Transcript • SAT/ ACT (Recommended) • TOEFL iBT: A minimum of 100 total with preferred sub-scores of 26 (Reading), 26 (Listening), 22 (Writing), and 25 (Speaking) OR IELTS 7.0 overall with no less than 7.0 in each section US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 20–25%. Johns Hopkins values curiosity, initiative, collaboration and engagement with meaningful problems. Research, public service, independent projects, and academic exploration can be valuable.
